Horizon Docs

We moved Engage sign-in to WorkOS with passcodes and passkeys, refreshed public pages, and simplified accounts.

Versions included: v12.9.0

Features

  • A single, modern sign-in for Engage — signing in now goes through WorkOS, our new front door for logging in. You can sign in with a one-time passcode or a passkey, so there is less to remember and fewer passwords to manage.
  • Your account is ready the first time you sign in — new users get an account created automatically on first sign-in, with no separate signup step. Existing users were moved over ahead of time, and your current password still works — there is nothing you need to reset.
  • Invitations take you straight to the right place — when you follow a workspace invite and don't yet have an account, we now send you directly to sign-up instead of a sign-in screen you'd have to leave. Returning users still land on sign-in as before.
  • A home of your own when you're invited — brand-new users who join through a workspace invitation now also get their own personal workspace, so you're not limited to just the workspace that invited you. (Members who join through an enterprise organization continue to belong to that organization only.)
  • Quick access to your account settings — a new User Settings link in the profile menu takes you straight to your personal settings.

Improvements

  • A clearer seat limit on the Teams page — when your plan has no open seats, the add-member button is now disabled rather than opening an invite dialog that quietly excludes the people you add. We also removed links that led to a broken billing page.
  • A refreshed, findable public site — our public pages now carry the Horizon Engage branding, and we made them properly discoverable by search engines so people can find Engage more easily.
  • A simpler, more focused product — we retired the long-unused reseller area and stopped automatically issuing forum credits to new accounts, trimming features that no longer served a purpose.

Fixes

  • More reliable sign-in and integrations — we resolved an occasional connection error that could interrupt sign-in and other background service calls after a period of inactivity, making these interactions steadier.
  • Dependable account creation notifications — we corrected the timing of our internal signup notification so it only fires once your new account is fully saved, preventing a class of errors during signup.
  • A security update to our database driver — we applied a security patch to the database component Engage relies on, keeping the platform current with the latest fixes.
